AC Supply Tripped: What Happens and How to Fix It
If the AC supply feeding your inverter trips, the system may shut down, stop charging, or
enter standby mode. This article outlines how to identify and resolve an AC supply trip.
Symptoms of AC Supply Loss
- Inverter loses power or reboots unexpectedly
- No grid readings in the portal
- Battery stops operating
Steps to Diagnose the Issue
1. Check the Inverter AC Breaker
- Located in the consumer unit or isolator enclosure
- If tripped, reset to the ON position
2. Check the AC Isolator Next to the Inverter
- Ensure it is switched ON (|)
3. Check for Overcurrent or Fault Conditions
- Large household loads may cause nuisance trips
- Ensure wiring is correctly rated
- Turn AC isolator OFF → wait 30 seconds → turn ON
- Allow the inverter 5 minutes to reconnect
When to Escalate
- Breaker trips repeatedly
- Inverter powers up but still shows no AC supply
- You hear abnormal noises from the inverter
