How to Reconnect an Offline AIO Unit

How to Reconnect an Offline AIO Unit

If your All-in-One (AIO) or Gateway unit appears offline, follow the instructions below to check compatibility settings and reconnect your GivEnergy system to the internet.

Check Router Compatibility

Before reconnecting, ensure the following settings are applied to your router. You may need assistance from your internet service provider to confirm or apply these settings:

  • Both 2.4GHz and 5GHz channels are enabled and split.
  • If your router does not support channel splitting, ask your provider to help you create a guest 2.4GHz network.
  • Security mode must be WPA2-PSK (not WPA3).
  • Encryption must be set to AES.
  • Only the 2.4GHz channel is supported by GivEnergy dongles.
  • Ensure port 7654 is open (this is required for communication).
  • If using a Ubiquiti router, disable PMF (Protected Management Frames) in the router UI.

    • Channel/Frequency: Note the channel for later configuration.
  3. Enter your Wi-Fi password in the Passphrase field.

Security Settings (AP Interface Settings)

  1. Set the Channel/Frequency to match your router's.
