How to Manually Charge AIO HV Battery On Site using DC Charger

Materials needed

DC Charger capable of 80V and at least 3A (Voltage must be variable) Multimeter, with DC voltage setting.

Place the battery pack on a stable surface, away from moisture and where it will be safe to leave for 15-30 mins.

Turn on the DC charger, but do not connect it to the battery. Set the voltage to 75V, if there is a constant current or current limit setting, set this at 5A or less. Turn it off again once the voltage level is set.

Place the battery on a flat level surface and identify which way is the top. Using the multi meter verify the polarity, negative should be the pin nearest the top, and the positive the bottom. There are ONLY 2 pins outside if the smaller BMS comms pins populated. Check the picture to be sure.

Now put the positive and negative leads from the charger in the respective pins holes on the battery, a small spark may be seen (Depending on the charge level of the HV battery) as the capacitors in your charger charge from the battery.

Now switch on the charger and you will see current flowing and the voltage will be LOWER than you originally set. This will slowly rise, as the voltage set is reached, the current will reduce.

When the current is near 0A and the voltage is 75V. The charge to a base level is complete.

REPEAT for all 4 packs. ALL 4 must be charged to the SAME VOLTAGE 75V
