How to Install the GEM630MCT Meter

How to Install the GEM630MCT Meter

Overview

Follow these steps to install and power the GEM630MCT safely and accurately.

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Isolate all power to the circuit before wiring.

  2. Mount the meter on a DIN rail inside the consumer unit or cabinet.

  3. Provide supply power (6 A MCB recommended):

    • Live → Terminal LA

    • Neutral → Terminal NA

  4. Connect voltage references:

Terminal

Description

L1

Phase 1 voltage input

From same supply as CT L1

L2

Phase 2 voltage input

From same supply as CT L2

L3

Phase 3 voltage input

From same supply as CT L3

N

Neutral

Common return for all phases

Phase rotation must match the property’s rotation.
Incorrect rotation produces negative or inconsistent readings.

  1. Install CT clamps:

    • Clamp only the live conductor of each phase.

    • Arrow must face toward the property load.

    • Connect as follows:

Phase

CT White (+)

CT Black (–)

L1

Port 20

Port 19

L2

Port 18

Port 17

L3

Port 16

Port 15

  1. Power on the meter and confirm display activation.

Notes

  • Never extend or shorten CT cables.

  • All three CTs must correspond exactly with their voltage references (L1 ↔ CT L1, etc.).

  • If incorrect, readings will drift or invert sign.
