Monitor Your Meter from Portal

Monitor Your Meter from Portal

Your GivEnergy system uses meter readings to calculate and display energy usage within the app and portal. These readings are generated by the inverter and depend on accurate meter installation and a stable internet connection.

Data Calculation in the Inverter

  • Readings shown on the portal and app are calculated by the inverter based on power flow.
  • constant internet connection is required for accurate data transfer; interruptions may result in errors or missing data.

Accessing Accurate Readings

For the most reliable data, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the Portal.
  2. Navigate to the Dashboard.
  3. Select My Inverter.
  4. Go to Meter Data to view readings pulled directly from the grid supply using the EM115/GEM120 meter.

Meter Accuracy

  • The EM115/GEM120 clamp provides readings that are accurate to approximately 98%.
  • Readings may be affected if:
    • The clamp is installed incorrectly.
    • The clamp is not securely fastened around the cable.
    • Cables connected to the meter have been shortened or lengthened.
    • The clamp cable has been cut down during installation.

How to Check for Discrepancies

You can compare readings to ensure accuracy:

  1. When your battery is low and your home is drawing from the grid, turn on a high-power appliance (e.g. a kettle).
  2. Check the usage on both the Portal and your home energy meter.
  3. If you notice a significant discrepancy, it may indicate an installation issue such as a shortened clamp cable.

Provide a Photo for Assessment

If you know where your meter clamp is installed, please send us a photo so our support team can verify whether it is positioned correctly.
