WiFi Security Level Connection Fix

WiFi Security Level Connection Fix

If you are having trouble connecting your GivEnergy system to your WiFi, it may be due to compatibility with your router’s security settings. Follow the steps below to resolve the issue.

Step 1: Check and Adjust WiFi Security Level

Some GivEnergy devices are not compatible with the latest WiFi security protocols (e.g., WPA3). To ensure connectivity, check your router’s wireless security settings and, if necessary, change the security level to WPA2:

  1. Log in to your router’s management page or mobile app (refer to your router’s user guide for instructions).

  2. Locate the Wireless Settings or Security Settings section.

  3. Look for the WiFi Security Level or Authentication Method option.

  4. If your router is set to WPA3 or WPA3 mixed mode, change it to WPA2.

  5. Save the changes and confirm when prompted.

Step 2: Reconnect Your Device

Once you have adjusted the WiFi security level:

  1. On the GivEnergy device you want to connect, forget or remove the WiFi network (refer to the device’s user guide if needed).

  2. Power the device off and back on again.

  3. Reconnect the device to your WiFi network.

  4. Repeat this process for any other devices that were unable to connect.

Step 3: Revert Settings if Necessary

If lowering the WiFi security level to WPA2 does not resolve the issue—or if you prefer to return to the higher security level—you can restore your router’s original settings:

  1. Access your router’s management page or app again.

  2. Navigate to the WiFi Security Level setting.

  3. Re-select WPA3 or your previous configuration.

  4. Save the changes and confirm when prompted.
