System Commissioning

System Commissioning

System commissioning is a critical phase that ensures the All-in-One system and its associated components are correctly configured and verified for safe and optimal operation before going live. This process must be performed by a qualified technician using the designated engineering software.

CAUTION - The inverter will not operate correctly or safely if the commissioning procedure is skipped or incomplete. Incorrect parameter settings can lead to system malfunction, inefficient operation, or potential damage to the equipment or connected battery system.

Pre-Commissioning Checks

Before initiating the software-based commissioning steps, conduct a thorough physical inspection and verification

  • Wiring: Check that all DC (PV, battery) and AC (grid, loads) wires are secure, correctly polarized, and match design plans. Look for loose connections or damaged insulation.
  • Components: Ensure all parts (All-in-One, battery, breakers) are correctly installed and undamaged.
  • Earthing: Verify all components are correctly earthed.
  • Battery System: Set battery parameters accurately for your specific battery model (voltage, capacity, charge/ discharge limits). This is vital for Li-ion batteries needing BMS communication. Keep the battery breaker OFF before the inverter’s initial power-up.
  • AC Supply: Ensure grid voltage and frequency are within the inverter’s allowed range. Keep the AC breaker OFF.

WARNING - High Voltage Risk. The inverter will generate high voltage inside after opening. Do not touch the internal wiring position of the machine after power-on. This is to prevent electric shock that can cause personal injury.

    Start-Up Procedure
  1. Ensure connection covers are in place
  2. Connect the AC circuit breaker, ensure that the system is powered on and that the grid power is reading identical to that of the mid approved meter (this can be found on the screen of the grid meter)
  3. Turn on the battery breaker by the DC MCB
  4. Turn on the battery by the on/off switch
  5. The inverter will start automatically when the battery voltage is higher than 230V DC or the Giv-Gateway provides AC voltage to the All in One. Please note: House load will not be present unless the All in One is online, or BYPASS breaker is activated. BYPASS must not be kept on

Shutdown Procedure

  1. Turn off the battery by the on/off switch
  2. Turn off the battery breaker by the DC MCB to prevent it from being reactivated
  3. Turn off the AC circuit breaker by the AIO MCB to prevent it from being reactivated
  4. Check the inverter operating status
  5. Wait until all LEDs have gone out which signify the All in One is off

Equipment Parameter Setting and Monitoring

You can perform the following operations for the inverter using the Portal on https://givenergy.cloud:

  • View the running data, software version, and alarm information of the device.
  • Set the equipment parameters, such as power grid parameters, communication parameters, safety areas, and anti-reverse current settings.
  • Maintain the equipment.
  • Upgrade the device software version.

Maintenance

When maintaining and cleaning the All in One, the whole system must be powered down. Please refrain from using cleaning products on the surface of the All in One.

To ensure your All in One operates optimally at all times, annual maintenance checks need to be carried out. Check for visible damage or discolouration of the switch, and that the cables are intact. Please ensure that the top of the All in One is not obstructed in anyway.
