Inverter Not Following Charge Schedule (Not Charging as Expected)

Inverter Not Following Charge Schedule (Not Charging as Expected)

If your inverter is not charging during the time slots you've set, the issue is usually related to conflicting settings, paused battery state, external controls, or tariff configuration. This article walks you through the key checks.

Symptoms

  • Battery does not charge during off-peak hours
  • Battery sits idle despite active schedule
  • Portal shows schedule applied but power flow does not change

Checks to Perform

1. Confirm the Battery Is Not Paused

  • Go to Remote Control → Battery → Pause Battery = Not Paused

2. Reset Schedules to Default

  • Portal → My Inverter → Settings → Reset Settings to Default
  • Re-enter schedule afterwards

3. Check for External Controls

  • Energy supplier integrations
  • Home Assistant / automations
  • Third-party tariff tools

4. Check Tariff Times Are Correct

  • Confirm start/end times match your supplier’s off-peak window
  • Check for crossing midnight (00:00–07:00 etc.)

5. Check Minimum State of Charge

  • If SOC is already above the target, charging will not begin

When to Escalate

  • Battery does not charge despite troubleshooting
  • Schedule changes revert on their own
  • Inverter detects battery but will not charge it

If needed, send screenshots of your schedule, battery settings, and inverter data to your installer or GivEnergy Support.
