Why does my graph show odd imports/exports for a few seconds?

It’s normal to see very short periods of import or export on your graphs, even if you expect your battery to cover demand.

  • Your battery “ramps up” when demand increases (e.g., when you switch on a kettle).

  • During this ramp-up, you may briefly import from the grid.

  • When demand stops suddenly, your battery may still discharge briefly, creating a short export.

  • Graph data is captured every 5 minutes, so short spikes may appear exaggerated.

Troubleshooting:

  • Compare your Portal “Meter Data” with your home meter for the most accurate readings.

When to Contact Support:

If you see long periods of unexpected import/export rather than short spikes.
