How to Use GivBot

GivBot is GivEnergy’s virtual assistant, built using AI processing of GivEnergy's support base. It is designed to help you quickly find answers by searching and summarising information from the GivEnergy Knowledge Base.

GivBot works best when you ask clear, practical questions about your system or situation. This guide explains what GivBot can help with — and how to get the most useful responses.

What GivBot Can Help With

GivBot can answer questions and guide you to articles covering:

  • Battery charging and discharging behaviour
  • Inverter and system troubleshooting
  • Charge schedules and tariff optimisation
  • Solar generation and energy flow
  • Safety guidance and critical issues
  • Restart procedures and basic diagnostics

How to Ask Questions

GivBot uses the wording of your question to search the Knowledge Base. You’ll get the best results by describing what’s happening or what you want to do, rather than using very short or vague phrases.

Good examples:

  • “Help me troubleshoot my inverter not charging”
  • “How do I set a charge schedule?”
  • “Why isn’t my battery covering the house load?”
  • “What should I do if I smell burning from my inverter?”
  • “Why is my battery percentage wrong?”

Less helpful examples:

  • “Battery”
  • “Not working”
  • “Help”

Using Follow-Up Questions

If GivBot gives you an answer that isn’t quite right, try asking a follow-up question. Adding a little more detail helps refine the response.

For example:

  • “The battery is not paused but still isn’t discharging”
  • “This happens only at night”
  • “I have a Gateway installed”

GivBot may include links to Knowledge Base articles in its responses. These articles provide more detailed step-by-step guidance and are often the best place to continue troubleshooting.

When to Contact Support

GivBot is designed to answer common questions and guide you through first checks. If your issue involves:

  • Repeated system faults
  • Physical damage or unusual smells
  • Electrical safety concerns
  • Issues that persist after following the guidance

You should contact your installer or GivEnergy Support directly for further assistance.

  • GivBot searches the GivEnergy Knowledge Base to answer your questions.
  • Clear, descriptive questions produce the best results.
  • You can ask follow-up questions to refine answers.
