How do I update my inverter firmware locally?

Updating inverter firmware ensures your system runs with the latest features and fixes. The process depends on which generation inverter you have.

  • Gen 1:

    1. Remove dongle from inverter.

    2. Plug into laptop, delete all files except MSN.txt.

    3. Copy new firmware file to dongle.

    4. Insert dongle back into inverter USB port.

  • Gen 2:

    1. Isolate DC and AC.

    2. Upload firmware to a blank USB.

    3. Plug into inverter USB port.

    4. Restore power — inverter beeps to confirm update.

    5. Remove USB, restore DIP switches.

  • Gen 3:

    1. Isolate DC and AC.

    2. Upload firmware to USB.

    3. Plug into inverter, power on DC only.

    4. Wait for beeps, remove USB, restore DIP switches.

    5. Restore AC and DC.
