This article provides a quick-start setup and usage summary for the GivEnergy Smart Plug (GIV-SP-16-2.4-TC-01). The plug enables remote monitoring and control of appliances through the GivEnergy App.

How to Use

New Users

  1. Scan the QR code included in the packaging to download the GivEnergy App.
  2. Enable WiFi and Bluetooth on your phone.
  3. Press Register in the app and create a new GivEnergy account.
  4. Return to device setup and follow onscreen prompts.

Existing Users

  1. Log into the GivEnergy App.
  2. Open the menu → Smart Devices.
  3. Accept location access prompts.
  4. Tap to add a new network device.
  5. Enter WiFi SSID and password.
  6. Connect to the Smart Plug hotspot (“SmartLife…”).
  7. Return to the app and tap Search for Device.
  8. Enter the plug’s Serial Number and Verification Code.
  9. Tap the device icon to access controls.

Device Control

  • Turn appliances on/off remotely.
  • Monitor energy usage over time.
  • Create schedules for automation.
  • Integrates with broader GivEnergy home energy optimisation features.

Important Notes

  • Only supports 2.4 GHz WiFi networks.
  • Ensure the plug is within WiFi range during setup.
  • Do not exceed 13 A / 2990 W device load.
  • Works with the GivEnergy app only; third-party voice assistants are not supported.
