Overview

The GivEnergy Gen 1 Battery is a lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) storage unit designed to store excess solar energy and provide power during high-demand periods. It connects to a GivEnergy Hybrid or AC Coupled Inverter as part of a complete home energy system.

  • Do not open, tamper with, or modify the battery enclosure.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
  • Do not expose the battery to rain, freezing temperatures, or direct heat sources.

Installation Requirements

  • Install on a solid vertical wall or suitable floor surface.

Electrical Connections

  • Ensure correct polarity when wiring the DC terminals.
  • Tighten all terminals securely to prevent overheating.
  • Connect communication cables between the battery and inverter as per the wiring diagram.

LED Indicator Status

  • Green Flashing: Normal operation
  • Solid Green: Fully charged
  • Red Flashing: Warning or communication issue
  • Solid Red: Battery fault

Commissioning

  1. Connect all DC and communication cables.
  2. Turn the battery isolator to ON.
  3. Power on the inverter.
  4. Verify the inverter detects the battery in the portal.
  5. Check LED indicators and ensure no alarms are present.

Maintenance

  • Keep the battery clean and free of dust.
  • Do not store objects on top of the unit.
  • Ensure firmware is updated via the inverter when required.
